​Introduction to ink painting for beginners. Ink painting ("shuimohua" or "suibokuga" or "sumi-e") is one of the traditional Asian art from China that is closely related to culture and society. It is a method of capturing the beauty through tonality and shading achieved by varying the ink density. This dark-light arrangement creates a three-dimensional effect and a sense of depth and distance. No previous experience is required, students will learn the basics of ink painting:
